banana brownies w/hot fudge sauce

Makes 1 square dish

These are the most amazing brownies! The banana adds the perfect amount of sweetness and contributes to the fudgy texture! If you are like me and grew up eating banana and Nutella all the time, you can see why this makes for the perfect pairing - but be warned that the batch won’t last too long!

Ingredients

1 egg room temp (or a flax egg - 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed, 3 Tbsp warm water - mix and let gel for a minute)

1/3 C coconut sugar

1/3 C ghee/oil melted and cooled

2 ripe bananas mashed (small)

1/2 C cocoa powder

1/3 C almond flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

Beat the egg and the sugar together (with a hand mixer or stand mixer) until a light caramel colour forms (2-3 minutes). Whisk in cooled oil, then mix in mashed bananas to make a smooth mixture (but it’s okay if there are a few lumps). Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl and then mix them into the wet mixture. Add in chocolate chips if you wish! Pour into a lined loaf tin and bake for 15-20 minutes at 180 C. Then top with hot fudge sauce =

1 Tbsp cocoa powder
2-3 tsp coconut sugar
2-3 Tbsp boiling water

Mix everything till smooth. Pour over the brownie, slice and DEVOUR. Best enjoyed with flaky salt. Store in an airtight container in the fridge, or freeze them and reheat in the microwave for a way to keep them longer!
